YGC DINNER

YORK GOLF CLUB CHARITY DINNER & TALK

WORLDS APART: MEDICINE IN A FORGOTTEN CORNER OF AFRICA

Dr Peter Smith, a former Haxby GP, is a long-serving member of York Golf Club. He is one of four York GPs whose self-funded trips to Uganda have helped to improve and modernise medical care in a country where 70 of every 1,000 children will die before the age of 1 and where life expectancy is 52.

This fantastic evening of fellowship and fun will be hosted at York Golf Club and will include a presentation by Peter about his experiences in Uganda and the work of the charity.

After a drinks reception, there will be a buffet dinner, “posh pudding” and coffee courtesy of John Roberts, York Golf Club’s highly regarded caterer.

The evening will include a raffle and an opportunity to speak to some of the people involved in this fascinating project.
